Visions in white at New Dimensions
by Carlos Colon
Greeted at the door with a longstemmed white rose, doormen in white tuxes and a white searchlight illuminating the Cleveland sky, you ascend to the second floor of the New Dimensions and you enter the fantasy world of white. Immediately you are handed a glass of sparkling champagne, and are directed to the banquet table that holds a large and delicious array of appetizers.
With this setting, New Dimen-
sions 1st Annual August White Party got under way. 100 invitations were sent for the VIP Cocktail Party preceding the 9 p.m. festivities. Among those in attendance were Ray Wolf, Dr. Bob Benyo, Jack Campbell and his lover Mike Kent (both in their casual Florida whites), Sam (manager of Club Cleveland), Mary Norman of the Vaults, Chris Partis (manager of Club Akron), Mary Hartman of Stubenville and Jeff Quisinberry, manager of Club Toledo.
Disco music prevailed throughout the night, provided by guest DJ Ernie Dunda from New York's Studio 54. Resident DJ Eddie Benson graciously, relinquished his booth for the night. Dancers on the floor were treated to a new light show, while white clouds and birds hovered above. The bar was decorated with white illuminated columns, and bartenders appeared in white-face with bizarre makeup.
Spearheading this event were Shelly Hanselman and Tony Barta.
